St. Rose of Lima’s sixth through eighth graders are part of our state accredited middle school program. Our middle school program concentrates on educating the whole child: academically, spiritually, and socially.
We provide an outstanding curriculum that emphasizes content literacy skills in Math, Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies. Our Science curriculum implements STEM education (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) using project-based learning. In addition, our students participate in physical education, music, art, and Spanish classes.
Technologically, St. Rose students are one-to-one in the use of Chromebooks, and we use a variety of technological equipment school-wide to ensure that our students become responsible, globally-minded digital citizens. Keyboarding and computer science classes have also been implemented.
St. Rose has a strong Catholic identity present throughout our building and school day. Middle school students attend religion class three times a week, along with attending Mass both weekly and on holy days. Throughout the year students participate in special activities that reinforce our Catholic identity: Reconciliation, school-wide Seder Meal, Good Friday Mary’s Way of the Cross, May Crowning, and the Living Rosary.
Our middle school students also have the opportunity to participate in a variety of extra activities, such as Art Club, social dances, food drives, Student Council, community service projects, and CYO athletics.
