Week of January 11 through January 15

Religion– All things Mass.   We will review the people of Mass and move into understanding the objects of Mass.

Science-All things on Earth consist of matter, and matter exists in many forms. The most common states of matter are solids, liquids, and gases. This unit addresses how matter can change from one state to another.

Social Studies– We are wrapping up our study of Indiana becoming the 19th state. We will have a test on Thursday January 16th . The best way to study for the test is to review the crossword puzzle and worksheet called Statehood at Last. We will also be reading about Slavery in Indiana.

Math- 4th math: Multiplying Tens, Hundreds, and Thousands & Estimating Products by rounding

Reading– For our novel study we will read Hoot. Some of the skills we will practice are figurative language, vocabulary and different ways to show we comprehend and can retell the story.

Writing- Writing paragraphs and sentences without using “dead words” is our main focus.  Don’t know what “dead words” are, ask your precious one, but I guarantee their writing will be more enjoyable if they employ this skill.
