The Lion Cubs are growing and learning each week!  It is so exciting to see the progress they have made since the first of the school year!  This week we are learning about the letter Cc.  Today the children played with the “Alphabet soup” cans and pulled out picture of items from the can that start with the letter Cc.  At centers, we let them play with the A, B, and C cans and see and sort the cards.  They enjoyed that.

We also played with alphabet puzzles.  One side of the puzzle has a letter and the other side has a picture that starts with that letter.  Then we did an alphabet dot page.

We will also be learning about Thanksgiving.  We sang a song today about a turkey and also about pumpkin pie!  We are continuing to work on our memory verse, “Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good.”  Ps. 107:3.

PLEASE BRING IN A CANNED GOOD OR SOME ITEM FOR OUR BLESSING BASKET THIS WEEK.  We need all the items by this Friday, Nov. 22. so that the baskets can be delivered to the needy family this weekend.  If you would like to help deliver the baskets, please contact Julie Haney at the Religious Ed. office who coordinates this project.  The link to the sign up is below, but even if you do not sign up on the link, we need you to donate something if you can.  This is for a family with 5 boys.  I’m sure any and all donations will be appreciated!

We just sent out one more Scholastic Book order form.  If you are interested in any books, please order by Monday, Nov. 25 so that we can be sure to get all the orders in before Christmas.  Let me know if you do not want your child to see your order.  We can put it in another bag or box so they don’t see the books. If you choose to order you will need our class code.  It is TPGT4.

There have been lots of little ones in our room with coughs!  Please keep your child home if he/she has  a fever or if he/she just don’t seem to be acting like him/her/self.   (As a parent, you always know).  We sure don’t want to keep spreading germs throughout the holidays!!!

This Friday, Nov. 22, is our school’s Thanksgiving Feast.  We will all eat in the cafeteria at the same time. (Yes, the whole school!)  Our school hot lunch will be a traditional Thanksgiving menu:  turkey, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, green beans, applesauce, etc.  If you would like to volunteer to help, please contact Mrs. Carnes at the school office.  We usually need many parents that day.  Or, if you’d like to help Miss Eastham and I that would probably be good, too!  I don’t know the exact time  yet, but it should be from either 11-12 or 11:30-12:30.

Looking ahead:  No school on Wed. Nov. 26, Thursday, Nov. 27, or Friday, Nov. 28.  We hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family!
