Lion Cubs really enjoyed our “Apple Week” last week.  They especially loved tasting the different types of apples.  Most of the students could not decide which type they liked best.  I think they just all LOVE apples!

We sang a song to the tune of B-I-N-G-O and we spelled the word “apple”!  We also worked on patterns with apples and we did some apple crafts.

This week we will be talking about Community Helpers:  doctors, nurses, firefighters, farmers, construction workers, teachers, etc.!  We will also talk about fire safety.  We have some fun crafts planned, too.

We are learning a new Bible verse for October:  “When I am afraid, I will trust in you.” Psalm 56:3.

We are singing songs about fall and the seasons.  The children love the singing!  We sing every day!!!  I build it into our schedule right after morning snack and before we have to sit “crisscross” for circle time.  It helps us get our wiggles out and we are learning at the same time!  On Fridays, I bring in my ukulele and play even more songs for the kids.  Some of their favorites are “Twinkle, Twinkle”, “ABC’s”, “The wheels on the bus”, and the “Itsy Bitsy Spider” .  We are also learning “Jesus loves me”!

This week will be a short week.  Monday and Tuesday are regular days.  Wednesday is an early dismissal day and preschool is dismissed at 1:30.  On Thursday dismissal for preschool will be at 12:30.  There is no school on Friday, Oct. 11 through Friday, Oct. 18.  We hope everyone has a wonderful fall break!
