We will continue to talk about fall this week.  Our new theme for the week is All About Apples!  Today we played a game where I had an apple in a paper bag but I told them to guess what was in my bag by only feeling it, not looking in the bag.  They were pretty good at guessing what was in the bag!  Then we talked about how apples feel. (smooth, round). I showed the children different colored apples.  Later this week we will taste different kinds of apples and see what kinds are our favorites. We will also be making some apple crafts. We will read books about apples and apple trees, too.

Our Bible verse for the month of October is “When I am afraid, I will trust in You.” Psalm 56:3. We learned the “Angel of God” prayer in the month of September.  During October, our school will be learning the “Hail Mary”.  This prayer begins with the words of the angel Gabriel to Mary found in Luke 1:28.  “Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you.”  The second part of the prayer is asking for Mary to intercede for us. Just as the Bible teaches us that Jesus intercedes for us to the Father (Romans 8:34), we also believe that Mary will intercede for all of us if we ask her to. She is the mother of Jesus and even when she and Jesus were alive on this earth He listened to her and answered her requests (Wedding feast at Cana – John 2).

Parents, remember that Fall break is coming.  There will be no school on Friday, Oct. 11 through Friday, Oct. 18.

Our little class is doing so well!!! We are really proud of them.  They are learning so much this year already! Please do not hesitate to contact me if you ever have any questions or concerns.  I would be happy to  talk to you at any time.
