Religion Study Guide 16

I would like for all students to bring/have a rosary to keep in their book bags for the month of May. Since May is the month of Mothers, I like to try and say the Rosary at least once a week during the month.  I do have extra Rosaries if needed.

*Don’t forget that all students should be in Mass uniform. Girls – plaid jumper or skirt with a white shirt/blouse – We are now back to the girls being able to wear ONLY THE PLAID SKIRT OR JUMPER!! (NO PANTS!) Boys – blue pants and white shirt.

SPELLING – This week our words will have /er/ sounds (sister, sailor, dollar).  Our tests will be on Wednesday and Friday this week.

Week 28-30

READING Our story this week is “An American Hero Flies Again.”  We will work on vocabulary, problem and solution and functional documents such as menus, flyers, brochures.  Our test will be on Friday.

GRAMMAR /VOCAB. We will work on adjectives that compare and adverbs that tell how.

SCIENCE – We will focus on Social Studies for the next few weeks!

SOCIAL STUDIES – I am hoping to finish up this chapter this week, however, I am not sure we will get a test in this week.  If not this week, it will be early next week. Even though we have a few days before the week, I have added the link to the TEST HINTS for this chapter.

STATE REPORTS-
Information will be coming home today about our STATE REPORTS!  I know we are almost finished with the school year, but we still have lots of work to do!  Please read over the information page and let me know if you have any questions!  This report is similar to the Animal and President Reports. All reports and posters are due on TUESDAY, MAY 14!!

SUMMER-ITIS-
I know the kids are all getting Summer-itis and are ready for the year to be over!  HOWEVER…we still have 17 days of school left and LOTS of things to do!  Please encourage your child to continue to do their best and continue to work hard!

It is also very important for the students to be at school every day and on time and ready to go each day!  An important part of the day is the first 10-15 minutes when the kids come in the room.  They need time to talk, turn in work, use the restroom, etc. before we get our day started!  When the kids come in late, they are missing the time to settle in and get prepared for the day.  Please try to have your child/ren to school before the tardy bell rings at 8am!

RONCALLI SUMMER CAMP-
Please see the link below for Summer Camps being offered at Roncalli.

Summer Camp Bulletin(newsletter-parish bulletins)

School Sweatshirts –
Please be aware that the uniform policy says “School sweatshirts are the only ones allowed and must be worn with a collared uniform shirt underneath.”   I usually have my window opened at least a little all year long, so if your child is one to get cold easily, you may want to make sure they have and bring, a school uniform sweatshirt to wear in class.

TARDIES/SPIRIT DAYS –
AS STATED IN THE HANDBOOK – If your child is tardy 3 times during the month, they will not be allowed to dress out of uniform for Spirit Day.  If they have 6 or more tardies in the same month, they will not be allowed to dress out of uniform nor will they be allowed to participate in Spirit Day. The timing on this goes from SPIRIT DAY of one month to the day before the SPIRIT DAY of the next month.

PE CLOTHES – ALL STUDENTS should be bringing their school PE UNIFORM each Thursday and Friday!  I understand that every once in a while, they may forget, but too many times of forgetting will lead to lowered scores in PE, along with the student clipping down in class for not having their PE clothes.

We no longer need to make sure to have sweatpants or leggings on for dismissal!  I hope we have warmed up enough to not them!

GOLDEN TICKETS REWARD SYSTEM – Please click on the link below to read my letter that explains our Golden Ticket Reward System.  Please let me know if you have any questions.
