I just received word that there will be NO SCHOOL on Monday, May 6th. Please make sure that you have childcare arrangements for this day.
The end of Kindergarten is near! We are about to enter a very busy time of the school year. Please make sure that you are watching the calendar for all the important things coming up. Please see the important dates in this newsletter, as well as the St. Rose calendar on the school website. If you have any questions about anything, let me know!
If you haven’t already, please see the link below for information about the upcoming Annual St. Rose Auction, and please considering donating. Thank you to those who have already signed up for something!
Please have all Scholastic orders submitted by this FRIDAY. This will be the very last chance to order this school year. The code to order online is R8KCM.
Below is a preview of some of the things we’ll be doing this week and what we have been working on:
Our reading this week will focus on Religion and how Jesus died on the cross for us and why we celebrate Easter. We will learn about the Stations of the Cross/Way of the Cross in preparation for the 8th graders performance of Mary’s Way of the Cross in church before dismissal on Good Friday. On Friday morning, we are meeting with 8th grade buddies for a Spring Walk and Easter Egg Hunt. I know that the kiddos will be excited for this!
We are really focusing on getting strong with our addition and subtraction skills! I am very impressed with this class’ math skills. One thing that I am still noticing a lot that we are continuing to work on is backwards numbers when we do our number writing. The students took a number writing “test” last week. Those papers will come home in binders this week, so be sure to go over the numbers with your child and practice at home if you notice a lot of backwards numbers. Thank you for your help!
