Happy New Year!! Welcome back to all of our Lion Cubs!  It was a long break and now we are ready to get back in the swing of school!  We also have a new student, Joseph, who will be joining us on Wednesdays and Fridays.

Ms. Abbee Eastham, who helped out in December, will be our new assistant going into the last semester of the school year.  The kids absolutely loved her and she seems to also love being with them!  We are thrilled to have her back!

This week we talked about the winter and put that into the context of the four seasons of the year.  See if your child can name the four seasons.  We have also been singing our months of the year song.

We read books about snow and winter this week.  Next week we will be talking about what the animals do in the winter and we will also be making a bird seed ornament to hang outside in one of your trees or bushes.

Please check your child’s bookbag and folder each evening.  Some of the children have lost their folders.  Please replace the lost folders so we can send their papers home in them.

As far as snacks, we are all set for right now.  We will let you know when we need  more.

Registration is starting for the 2019-2020 school year.  To register for KB, a student must be 4 years old by August 1.  I know we have some young students in the Lion Cubs class, so if in doubt, please email me about which class is appropriate for your child for next year.  I always advise parents to give their child more time to grow and mature emotionally, even if they seem ready academically.  If you are on the fence about sending them to KB or having them repeat Lion Cubs. you might want to set up a time to meet.  I would be happy to talk to you about your child and how they are doing in preschool.

If there is inclement weather, please check your email for a message from the school on Jupiter.  We also follow the Franklin Schools for school closings and delays.  This should be posted on the regular media outlets.

Thank you for all the wonderful Christmas gifts.  I did write thank you cards, but I don’t think they all went home yet!

Have a wonderful weekend!
