The end of the quarter is this Friday! Can you believe that we have been in school a whole quarter already? Stay tuned for some changes to some procedures next quarter. Conferences are next week. If you did not receive the conference letter from your student, let me know. Those went home last week. I am working on finishing up grading from last week. Emails went out mid-quarter for concerns and students have had a few weeks to get their grades up or to keep them up. Conferences will be a good time for students to reflect on their study habits and their classroom work habits. Remember, conferences are student-led.

We are beginning European Exploration this week. We will look at the world during the 1400s and will start looking at the individual explorers.

**Book contracts must be filled out for all books that students are reading for reading logs and AR tests.
All students must have one AR novel read by October 5 and have AR test taken for a grade. Genre assigned is fiction.
We are talking about properties and states of matter this week, as well as changes in states of matter. Law of conservation of mass relating to states of matter and changes of state.
