I handed out book orders last Friday. They are due Sept. 28. Every order earns us bonus points, which buys us books for our classroom. If you want to order online, my teacher code is TFZKN.

We have Mass on Wednesday this week.
Band is on Thursdays. Students need to bring their instruments.
We will have a vocabulary test on Friday and I am shooting for a test over the rest of Chapter 1 in math on Friday. I plan to test over Chapter 2 in social studies next week. We are finishing up our study guide this week. We do a section each day, so they can begin to study for next week’s test this week.
Pretty soon, parent/teacher conference letters will come home. Conferences will be student-led, so please plan on having your student there.

Math-

We are finishing up Chapter 1 and reviewing for a test on Friday.    Flashcard log due 9/21.

Social Studies–

We are working on our study guides this week. There is one for every section. We will review and test next week.

Religion-

We began our study of The Seven Sacraments.  So far we have learned the Sacraments are divided into special categories depending on the gifts and graces we receive from each. In our continued study our objectives will be to understand the definition of a Sacrament and understand how the Sacraments affect our daily lives.  I strongly suggest everyone study notes and handouts nightly.  Many did not follow these directions and the score reflect that.

Reading/Language Arts-

Reading skill: Close reading

Vocabulary: Test on Friday. Students have flashcards, a list of synonyms and antonyms, and will have a list of sample sentences later in the week to study.

Writer’s Workshop: We are working on the traits of voice and word choice.

Reading Log:   Due 9/21

**Book contracts must be filled out for all books that students are reading for reading logs and AR tests.

All students must have one AR novel read by October 5 and have AR test taken for a grade. Genre assigned is fiction.

Science-

We are talking about properties and states of matter this week. Students will learn about mass and volume, including how to find (scale and graduated cylinders).

**PLEASE CHECK ASSIGNMENT NOTEBOOKS DAILY**
