Thanks to all who came to Back to School night last week. Most of the information I talked about was in my handout that the kids brought home, but I will email later this week about a few things that were not.

Picture day is on Wednesday. Look for forms to come home. Please make sure that students follow the dress code when dressing for this day.

Students heard about our band program last week and should have brought home information last week. They will have the opportunity to try out instruments this week. Band meets every Thursday after Mass.

*Just a reminder, please do not clean out your student’s binder. We keep important handouts in this binder. I will clean this out with them periodically.

Here is what we are working on this week:

Math-

Students will use the distributive property to simplify expressions and find equivalent expressions. We will also work with powers of 10 and find patterns of multiplication. *Students should practice their multiplication flash cards for 10 minutes every night and have you sign their log. If a student cannot find their flash cards from last year, they can bring in $1 to purchase a pack from me.

Social Studies–

We will look at land regions, bodies of water, and climate this week. Students will fill out maps with geographic features. These features will be the subject of our first quiz. Date to be announced soon!

Religion-

Students attend Religion class with Mrs. Tieken. Here is what she says they are working on:
