3rd Grade Weekly Wave
RELIGION – We will work on our Holy Week Chapter this week. We may also start Chapter 13 as well. In Chapter 13 we will talk about how the Church continues the mission of the Apostles, Peter the Rock, and the Marks of the Church.
**We will have the Washing of the Feet on Holy Thursday at 8:30am in the Church. There is No Mass, but we will have this prayer service.
**On Good Friday, we will finish the day with “Mary’s Way of the Cross” which is the live version of the Stations of the Cross put on by the 8th graders. Please join us at 12:15 in the Church.
**Early Dismissal will immediately follow the Stations.
**The girls are now allowed to wear pants as part of their Mass Uniform! We will carry this through the winter months until Spring Break!
SPELLING – We will be reading “Charlotte’s Web” for the next three weeks. The words for these weeks are pretty tough, so please be sure to help your child study! This week our tests will be Wednesday and Friday. Please see the link below for the list of words.
READING – For the next three weeks, we will be reading “Charlotte’s Web” for reading. We will do a chapter or two a day. Just like when we read the “Little House” book, most of it will be read in class, but there may be some work that needs to be completed at home.
GRAMMAR /VOCAB. – Our Grammar and Vocabulary will be from “Charlotte’s Web”. Some of it gets a little tough, so please make sure your child is staying on top of their assignments and getting things turned in each day!
MATH – We finished up our Fractions unit, we will now talk about measurement – telling time, length, volume, and mass.
SCIENCE – We will finish up our chapter on Water this week. I am hoping for a test on Wednesday or Thursday. Keep watching the homework journals and daily emails for up to date information
SOCIAL STUDIES – I am hoping to get to our next chapter in Social Studies, A Communities Geography. We will look at how we can describe a place, what people add to places, people and their environment, and reading map directions. Not sure about a test…we will have to wait and see!
