December 4, 2017
We made it to December! We have 3 weeks left until the end of the quarter. Please continue practicing sight words, numbers, counting, and letters and their sounds at home with your child. As always, if you need any materials to practice, let me know.
The December Snack Calendar will be going home at the end of this week. This week we will be having leftover snacks so that we make sure nothing is wasted. 😊
We will be going to the Book Fair Tuesday and Wednesday. Tuesday is a preview only day. The students will write down a wish list. If you decide that you would like your child to purchase items off the wish list, please send the wish list back on Wednesday with the money in a Ziploc bag. Please mark which items you want your child to purchase. Someone at the Book Fair will then help the kiddos make their purchases.
This week, the weather is going to start getting very cold! Please be sure your child is prepared for outdoor recess (warm coat, hat, gloves/mittens). We will be going out if weather permits and the temperature is above 25 degrees.

Our popcorn words this week are “it” “he” “she.”
Our letter of the week is Rr.
We are discussing words that end with -en (hen, ten, den, etc.)
Please work with your child at home to ensure that they have mastered the following words:
Jesus, God, blue, can, I, red, the, we, yellow, like, green, a, to, and, see, play, purple, orange, go, is, pink, brown, black, have, you, for, white, gray, are, look, here, that, it, he, she
2D AND 3D shapes. We are also counting to 100 by ones, tens, and fives.
Drawing real life pictures with 3-star coloring (colors make sense, no white spaces, staying in the lines) and using labels. We are working on sounding out words, starting sentences with capital letters, ending with a sentence stopper, and proper spacing between words.
Looking forward to another great week in Kindergarten! 😊
