3rd Grade Weekly Wave
RELIGION – We will be finishing up Chapter 5 this week. However, we are not going to have a test until we complete Chapter 6. We will test over both chapters. Chapter 6 will talk about celebrating the Sacrament of Penance and the Sacrament of Healing. We will also look at the Anointing of the Sick. This week we will also be talking about All Saints Day.
**MASS THIS WEEK IS ON WEDNESDAY! It is a Holy Day of obligation for ALL SAINTS DAY!
**3rd Grade will be planning Mass next week! We will do our Mass to honor our Veterans for Veteran’s Day!
**The girls are now allowed to wear pants as part of their Mass Uniform! We will carry this through the winter months until Spring Break!
SPELLING – Our words this week are words with /ar/ and /or/ sounds (bark, shorts). Due to Halloween and Trick or Treating, I am moving our Spelling tests to THURSDAY and FRIDAY this week! `
READING – This week our story is called “Stone Soup.” We will work on vocabulary, making inferences, and using/reading a chart. Our test will be on Friday!
GRAMMAR /VOCAB. – We will finish up our Halloween Stories this week. We have been working on them on our Chromebooks! (They get so excited about this…and work so quietly!) In Grammar, we will work on action verbs.
MATH – We have started talking about multiplication! This week we will continue to talk about the idea of multiplication and modeling it with arrays and bar models. We will also talk about the commutative property of multiplication and then look at facts for 0, 1, 2, and 4!
Keep working on those Multiplication Sundae slips! We had 4 students earn their ice cream sundae bowl last week! 🙂
SCIENCE – We will start our next chapter in science next week!
SOCIAL STUDIES – I am hoping to finish up Chapter 2 this week with a test on Friday, but we will have to see how the week goes! Keep watching the emails and homework journals for up to date info!
