Lion cubs have had a good week.  We learned about Christopher Columbus and looked at a globe and a map. We learned a song about him and his three boats–The Nina, Pinta and Santa Maria.

We are working on our St. Rose mission statement.  Be a ROSE.  R for respect-O for obedience-S for service-E for Education.

In centers, we made a book about Christopher Columbus, drew pumpkins, counted and sorted shapes and played with puzzles.

Fall break starts at the end of the day today.  School will resume on Monday, October 23.  That week there will be two early dismissal days-Thursday, Oct. 26 and Friday, Oct. 27. School will dismiss at 1 p.m. both of those days.

When school resumes our class will be talking about shapes and Halloween.  Our class will celebrate Halloween on Monday, Oct. 30.  We will NOT be wearing costumes, but will be able to wear black and orange or Halloween shirts.

Don’t forget to turn in your Scholastic Book Orders.  We would like to have all the orders by Friday, Oct. 27 so that we can turn them all in together.

Have a great fall break!!
