The Lion Cubs had a fun time last week interacting with Nursery Rhymes and Fairy Tales. We read about “Humpty Dumpty” and played games with eggs. We used our cardboard blocks to build a place where he could sit and see if he would fall down (he did!). We put together an egg puzzle and held the pieces together with band aids. We compared different toy eggs and how they sounded when we shook them (they were filled with different things).
We also read about “The Three Little Pigs” and Mrs. Richards brought in three cardboard houses that looked like the Three Little Pigs’ homes–one made of straw, one made of wood, and one made of bricks. We did role playing and the kids loved that! They also made Pig and Wolf faces to play with.
This week we have been talking about Fall. We did sponge painting in fall colors and also dot markers. We did leaf rubbings from real leaves. We sang songs about fall and read books and poems about fall.
We also got to enjoy the Bookmobile on Wednesday morning. They heard two stories and borrowed some books. (We will keep the books in the classroom until the next time the Bookmobile comes).
We will continue our lessons on fall next week and also talk about apples and how they grow.
We have a new student in our class-Madalynn! (Mrs. Richard’s daughter). The children are all excited to have a new friend. They may be talking about their friends so I will give you all the first names so you can ask them about who they play with. We have Allen and Alena, Charlotte, Drew, Travis, Maverick, McKinlee, Cameron, Wyatt, Maddox, Kaden, Jaxson, and Gabriella.
Also, Happy Birthday to Gabriella! She is our friend who gave everyone the awesome sidewalk chalk the other day! Maverick also had a birthday this month! Happy Birthday to Mav! And Charlotte’s birthday is next week! Happy Birthday, Charlotte!
Some of you received your school pictures if your child had their picture taken. If your child did not get photographed, there is a make up picture day on Monday, Oct. 9 at 8 a.m. You can also have retakes if you had their picture taken but would like it retaken.
Remember we are having Operation Bundle Up to collect new and gently used coats for kids. If your child has outgrown their jackets or coats, please consider donating them.
Trash bag sales wrap up on Wed. Sept. 27. You can turn them in to us or to the office.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
