The Lion Cubs had a fun week talking about Community Helpers. They all got a fire hat to wear and to take home! We sang songs about helpers and made a little firefighter craft. We colored community helper pages. We colored on envelopes and put stickers on them to pretend we were mailing letters. We talked about how teachers, firefighters, policemen, mailmen, mechanics, garbage collectors, pilots, doctors and nurses help people. We played with the construction kit and doctor kit in our room.
We read a Bible Story about baby Moses. Our Bible verse was “God is love”. The kids are doing a great job with listening in circle time.
Next week we will be talking about Nursery Rhymes. Do you read Nursery Rhymes at home? These are a great way to help your child with language, rhymes, sequencing and memory. We will read, sing and act them out in class. We will do a craft and coloring pages on the nursery rhymes as well. It will be a fun week!
Remember to send in jackets with your child since we will go outside for recess. Please put their names on everything! This is really important so that nothing gets lost!
This weekend-Sept. 8 and 9 is the St. Rose Parish Festival. Please come and enjoy the festivities!
Next Friday and Saturday night (Sept. 15 and 16) St. Rose is sponsoring “Mary Poppins” movie at the Artcraft Theater. The movie begins at 7:30 p.m. both nights.
Thank you for sharing your children with us!
