6th Grade Science
We are learning about the properties of the states of matter and about the changes of states of matter. We should be ready for our first test soon!
Prealgebra: Finishing up with distributive property and moving into one step equations and two step equations
Math: We are reviewing approximating square roots and looking at rational and irrational numbers. We will then move into prime factorization and scientific notation. We will quiz next Wednesday over square roots and rational/irrational numbers.
Thursday: We will review area of trapezoids and move into circles.
Science: We are discussing the cell membrane and will then discuss diffusion and osmosis.
Intro to Algebra: We are reviewing how to solve multi-step equations and inequalities and those with variables on both sides. We will also include word problems.
Prealgebra: We will compare numbers in scientific notation, as well as add, subtract, multiply, and divide them. We will be testing soon.
Thursday: Volume of cylinders and cones.
Science: The project over elements was assigned last Thursday and is due next Friday the 15th. The quiz over list 2 is on Thursday. We are discussing properties of metals, nonmetals and metalloids, as well as how to make Bohr diagrams and Lewis Dot structures. We will be testing in a few weeks.
