Religion-I hope you know of the “prayers in the plate”. If you don’t ask your child to share about it. This week we are studying the types of prayer and all that goes with it. We will be taking lots of notes. .  If your student studies vocabulary, and their handwritten notes every evening they should have no worries come test time.

Science-We will be using an online program called Science A-Z as the main resource tool during science. This program is a fun and interactive way for students to see the most updated material in the science world. Students will get their own booklets where they can highlight, make notes, and/ or color each unit. We will start this year studying vertebrates Vertebrates are animals that have a spine. This unit helps students understand that vertebrates share common characteristics, including bone structure and major parts of the skeleton, and that vertebrates can be organized into five classes: mammals, birds, fish, reptiles, and amphibians.

Social Studies– Social Studies: The students will be using the Indiana Studies Weekly for their main resource to learn about Indiana History. This week we will learn about Indiana Mammals and whether or not Indiana had dinosaurs.   We will also learn about the Northwest region of our home state. The students need to study vocabulary and highlighted notes from the newspaper every evening. This will help them solve worksheets and pop quizzes.

Math-Not available at time of publication

Language Arts– Understanding what they read is extremely important. So, we are currently working with two stories one fiction (Rumpelstiltskin) and one non-fiction (Dandruff). We will learn a skill that checks comprehension called a Story Pyramid, and practices that skill.
