I would like to wish all of “our” moms (and grandmas) a Happy Mother’s Day. I hope your day is as SPECIAL as YOU! Thanks for ALL you do, it doesn’t go unnoticed. The children are so PROUD of you and LOVE you very much. It was so neat hearing what they had to say about all of you as we were reading books about Mother’s Day this week and as they made your special gifts & cards. It’s so EVIDENT how much “you” are LOVED. As a mom of 3, I know our children don’t always show it, but when they are given the chance to talk about us it’s so SWEET (usually 🙂 ) to hear how much we really mean to them. I hope you enjoy your cards and gifts. Enjoy your WELL-DESERVED day of HONOR! May God continue to BLESS you all!
VIP Day was a very SPECIAL DAY for everyone! The children had a chance to “show off” our classroom, the incubator, the chicks, their seeds, their art work and some of their school work. The children were also given the opportunity to get their picture taken, celebrate at mass and eat lunch with their special guests. They did a GREAT job singing their songs during the program too. I know our veterans especially enjoyed it. There were a lot of PROUD tears, yes, including me! 🙂 I hear it’s even captured on video. It was evident our special guests were enjoying every minute of it! It was very nice getting to meet so many of my students’ grandparents and SPECIAL VIP’S. I hope all of our visitors enjoyed their day as much as we did! It was a pleasure meeting our new VIP’s and seeing some familiar faces again!
The Kindergarten class will participate in Field Day, Friday, May 19th. The children are looking forward to taking part in this special event. If you ordered a shirt for your child they will receive it ON FIELD DAY (the children will change shirts when they get to school). Please be sure to put sunscreen on your child before coming to school because if the weather allows we will be outside most of the day. Tennis shoes are recommended for field day. We are looking forward to a FUN day! Thanks in advance to all of our volunteers who signed up to help!
The Kindergarten Program will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 24th in the PLC. The children need to meet Mrs. Salazar and me in our classroom at 6:10 p.m. The children may dress up or may dress casual. However, I would like to request that they do not wear jeans or “play clothes.” The children will be performing a program that will last about 30-40 minutes. We will be using a few props; some of these props will be hats. If the girls plan on wearing ponytails or pigtails, I would like to ask you to please make sure they aren’t up real high because this makes it difficult for them to put the hats on easily. Thin clips may be easier as far as that goes. Following the program the children will receive their certificates and then there will be a small reception. The children have been working hard and are ready to show you what they’ve been working on. I think you are in for a real treat! In case you didn’t know it, I have some pretty talented students! 🙂 Mrs. Salazar and I have enjoyed listening to them sing the songs they have been learning! Please continue practicing your child’s poem with him/her. We will begin practicing for our program next week so the children will need to know their poems by Monday. Most of the children have already memorized their poems and are doing GREAT! Thanks for your help! Also, thanks to all who signed up to help with refreshments that evening! I know there has been so much going on lately. I truly appreciate all you do! We are still in need if you are able to help (if the link isn’t highlighted, you may have to copy and paste the URL: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c094ca8ad2aa4ff2-kindergarten3
