The Lion Cubs have been working on the letter Ii this week and we have also been practicing cutting with scissors! We continue to work on the ABC’s and numbers as well as days of the year and months of the year. They love listening to books and we are going to be doing some retelling of stories, which helps them with memory and reading comprehension. We read a book about St. Patrick on Wednesday. We have also been talking about insects (they are very interested in these)! We played with them in a sensory bin during centers and also during play time.
In art, we made little shamrock people (you probably found this in your child’s book bag). In our centers on Wednesday, we painted with ice cubes (that were colored with food coloring). These paintings turned out beautiful! We also made an ice cream cone picture with circles we cut out all by ourselves! (Well, mostly).
Next week we will be working on the letter Jj. We have some fun activities planned for J!
Remember there is no school next Friday, March 24. Spring break starts at the end of the school day on Thursday and school resumes on Monday, April 3. You should also be aware that there is no school on Monday, April 17 (Easter Monday).
Have a blessed and happy St. Patrick’s Day!
