Kindergarten Mass:

The Kindergarten class gets to plan the mass for next Thursday (2/23) at 8:30.  If your child has a part in the mass, a message was sent home earlier this week.  If they have a reading part, please be sure to practice these parts at home each day and we will practice them here as well.  Thanks for your help!  The children are very excited to take part in the mass for the 1st time.  We will have another opportunity later in the school year to plan mass so if your child did not get a part this time they will get a chance to help next time.  All are welcome to attend!

 HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DR. SEUSS!

Thursday, March 2nd is Dr. Seuss’ birthday! We are planning to celebrate Dr. Seuss and his WONDERFUL books the whole week of February 27th-March 3rd. We will be doing several activities during this week and we need your help! We are looking for volunteers to come in to read YOUR FAVORITE DR.  SEUSS book to our class. We read a story every morning and afternoon. If you are available to read, please visit the link to sign up to be a guest reader www.signupgenius.com/go/10c094ca8ad2aa4ff2-guest1   Be sure to put the name of the book you plan on reading in the “comment section” of the Sign Up Genius so we don’t get any duplicates.  Dr. Seuss is NOT the same as PD Eastman, which has caused some confusion in the past. Dr. Seuss has a couple books in which he uses his real name Theo Geisel or his pen name Theo LeSieg (Geisel spelled backwards), please be sure you choose a Dr. Seuss book. Thanks for your help! We look forward to hearing from you! We will end our week by having our annual green eggs and ham breakfast (I know we will be in the season of Lent by then, but the “little ones” are allowed to eat meat on Friday.  🙂 )  I do not see any “food coloring allergies” on my emergency forms.  If I have overlooked this and your child should NOT have scrambled eggs w/a dash of green food coloring in them, please let me know in the comment section of the Friday folder.

AIDAN

Aidan was our STAR student this week!  He was born on February 22, 2011.  Aidan was very excited that it was finally his turn to be our STAR.  Aidan is the PROUD big brother of Max and Nolan.  This is very evident when he walks Max to his pre-school room, gives him a hug and tells him to have a good day.  It’s also evident that Max looks up to his big bother!  Aidan likes playing soldiers with Max and holding his baby brother, Nolan.  He enjoys making Nolan smile by shaking his rattle.  Aidan does a great job taking care of his little brothers and teaches them many wonderful things I’m sure. 🙂  Aidan told us he enjoys watching cartoons with his dad and going to Chick-fil-A with his mom.  He loves spending time with his Mamaw, Papaw, Nanny and Jagee too.  His favorite place to go is to his Nanny and Jagee’s farm.  Aidan said there are a lot of cool things at the farm like a little jeep, a tractor, a mower, a bush hog, chickens and new chicks.  He loves being at the farm with his family.  Aidan also has a dog, Oliver.  He said Oliver gets a little “crazy” at times and he likes to chew his toys and mommy’s heels.   Aidan’s favorite movie is Avengers and his favorite character is Captain America.  He loves to play soldiers and baseball.  His favorite books are the Goosebumps books.  Aidan likes when his mom and dad take turns reading these books to him.  Aidan’s favorite soup is chicken noodle soup and his favorite color is green.  Thanks for sharing, Aidan!
