The Lion Cubs have had a fun Catholic Schools week!  On Monday we began with art class and made some beautiful hearts that are hanging in our hallway.  Miss Sargent and Mrs. Snedegar helped us with the cutting and gluing, but we really did them ourselves! In the afternoon we watched a movie in our PJ’s and sleeping bags with the whole school–“The Secret Life of Pets”!  We all enjoyed that!  We also got treats every day from Mrs. Dinkel.  If you found candy in the bookbag, it was a Catholic School’s Week treat.

On Wednesday we made a picture with the letter “C”.   It was very COLORFUL, since Color is a C word.  It was also “Tie-Dye” day, so that “tied” together very well!  We read “The C Book” and a book about Clifford.  We also read about Corduroy the Bear.  They are very good listeners when we read books!

Next week we will talk all about the letter D. Mrs. Snedegar will bring in some books about Dinosaurs and some little dinosaurs for the kids to play with.

Tuesday, Feb. 7, 6:30 p.m. PRIDE meeting.  Please come and see what our school parents have planned in the coming months!  Meet new people and get involved in St. Rose!

Wednesday, Feb. 8, 6:30 p.m. Annual Fund Dinner.  This is an event that all school parents are invited to.  We are also doing this in  connection the St. Rose Parish.  The dinner is free, but all will be asked to make a pledge to St. Rose.  You can make a one time donation or a pledge that goes over the course of the year.  The enables our parish and school to make updates in facilities, technology, and special projects and items for the classrooms.  It is a wonderful evening.  You will also be entertained by St. Rose Lions Choir!

Monday, Feb. 13,  Valentine’s Celebration for Lion Cubs.  Since Valentine’s Day falls on a Tuesday, which is not our normal “Class day”, we will celebrate Valentine’s Day on Monday of that week.  If you would like to send in a snack for Valentines, please let me know.  I could use one volunteer to send in a drink and one to send in a snack.  There are 11 Lion Cubs and we can’t have any items with peanuts or items processed in a facility that processes nuts.  You may send in Valentines for the children in the class.  We have 11 students.  It makes it easiest for us if you do not put the individual student’s names on them.  Just have your child sign, if you wish (or sign for them)!

TONIGHT!  Friday, Feb. 3 at 5:30 – 7 Chili Supper in the PLC.  7 p.m. Punk-N-Rock.  The middle school students have been working very hard to put together a fantastic show.  This is a lip sync to the Oldies!  Fun, fun, fun!

I hope you have a very nice week coming up!  Can you believe it’s February already?!

God Bless!

Mrs. Langferman
