Happy New Year
Religion– Still celebrating the Christmas season. Ask your precious one about The Other Wiseman.
In fact we have one more week of the Christmas season. Do you know what the feast is to end the season. All of the children will know by Friday.
Math: No update at time of publication will send it when it arrives.
Science: Our world is full of plants. Most plants have certain parts and attributes in common. There is also amazing diversity within the plant kingdom. This unit helps students understand the parts of plants and the functions of those parts. It explains photosynthesis as the process by which plants make their own food. It also explains how and why plants reproduce and grow, including the processes of pollination, fertilization, seed dispersal, and germination. The unit explains some of the key relationships between plants and animals. It also describes some of the many ways people use plants for both food and materials. Please have your student study on evenings when we highlight so there will not be too much to cram come assessment time.
Reading ; As promised…informational text has arrived. Ask you precious one what that might look like. Just in case they don’t know it is reading non-fiction material. This week we will learn all about Friday the 13th. So if you suffer from paraskevidekatriaphobia, maybe we can be of some help.
Language Arts: We have started a new skill. We will be finding the definitions that match the context clues giving in the sentence. This will build our vocabulary.
