Dolphin         3rd Grade christmas-tree Weekly WaveSandDollar

RELIGIONWe will be reading Chapter 7 this week.  In this chapter we will be talking about how Jesus teaches us to love.  We will talk about showing love to God and to our friends and family.  We will read about St. Louise d Marillac and how she showed love to God.  No test planned yet for this week.  Will most likely be next week.

**Don’t forget students should wear Mass Uniform on mass days!  This is blue pants and white shirts for the boys.  Plaid skirt or jumper with a white shirt for the girls!  (Girls will be able to wear pants for Mass Uniform starting in November.)

SPELLING Our words this week will go with our Chapter book, “Little House in the Big Woods”.   Please see the link below for the list of spelling words for the next three weeks.

READING  We will be reading chapters 9-13 this week of “Little House in the Big Woods.”  We will continue to do most of the reading and work at school, but some work may need to be finished at home in the evenings.

GRAMMAR All of our Grammar and Vocabulary work will go with our “Little House” book.

MATH   We will be ready to test over Chapter 5 on Tuesday.  This test will be over the rest of the multiplication facts that we have been working on.
Our Multiplication Sundae party will be on Friday.  Please encourage your child to turn in their slips by Wednesday or Thursday.  I sent home information last week about the party and asking for donations.  If you did not see the information, or have questions, please let me know.  Again, I asked about 1/2 the class for items for this celebration and the other 1/2 of the class will be asked for donations for “Dinkel’s Pond” in May!  🙂

SCIENCE – We will focus on Social Studies for the next few weeks!

SOCIAL STUDIES   We will be learning about “The People and Their Local Government” in chapter 3.  We will talk about the leaders in a community, community governments, and services provided by a community.  We will also talk about the branches of government and states, capitals, and the borders between states and countries.

**This week we will have SANTA’S SHOP!!  If your child is doing some shopping, they will need to bring their money on TUESDAY, DEC. 13!  We will be shopping from 10-11.  THIS WILL BE THE ONLY DAY WE WILL BE SHOPPING!!    Your child also brought home a page of Gift Tags. If they are planning on shopping, please have them fill this out before and reurn to me.  This will help the shopping process go a little quicker since we will know who they are shopping for.  If you have questions, please let me know.

**Our Christmas Program is Thursday, Dec. 15 at 7pm.  Students should be dressed in “Christmas Best” or “Sunday Best!  They need to be here by 6:45pm.  I will not be here until then, so if you arrive early, please have them wait with you in the PLC.

This could be just a pair of sweats/pajama pants/etc. or their uniform pants.  As we get into the colder months, I do not want them walking out to the cars in shorts.
