Lion Cubs are preparing for Christmas by learning about the Christmas story. We are reading lots of Christmas books at school.  If you can, try to  make time to sit and read a Christmas book at home.  There are so many good ones out there.

Thanks for sending the kids to school in warm hats, coats and gloves.  If the temperature is below 25 degrees we will not be going outside but will have inside recess instead.

Next week is the Santa shop.  If you wish for your child to shop there, they need to have the tags filled out that were sent home on the Santa Shop form this week. Please send in the money that you want them to spend and if you have a limit, that is fine!!  The items don’t cost much, so don’t go over budget!  Don’t cut the tags out but send in the form with the tags filled out. If your child was absent, just ask for the tags on Monday.  We will probably go to the Santa shop on Monday and Wednesday just to make sure everyone that wants to shop gets a chance.

We are doing OK for snacks right now.  If anyone wants to send in snacks for the Christmas party, we already have apple juice.  We could use popcorn, pretzels, m and m’s, raisins or craisins to make a snack mix for the class.  Thanks!

If you want to see the School Christmas Program, it will be Thursday, Dec. 15 at 7 p.m. in the PLC.  This is for grades Kindergarten through 5th plus choir and band.  The Kindergarten Bound will sing Christmas carols for the school and parents on Friday, Dec. 16 at 2 p.m.  The Lion Cubs are not in a program this year.  This is something they can wait until next year to do.  We do sing Christmas songs in class.  Ask them if they can sing ‘Mary had a Baby, Yes, Lord!”

Enjoy the Advent/Christmas season with your little ones!  They are so excited about all the festivities at this age, it is really fun!

God Bless!
