Fall Break is here!  We will not have class next week.  The following week we have early dismissal on Thursday, Oct. 20, and Friday, October 21.  Dismissal will be at 1 p.m. There will be no extended care today, Friday, Oct. 7, and also on Friday, October 21.  There are parent teacher conferences for KB through 8th grade on Wednesday and Thursday, Oct. 19 and 20.    Lion Cubs will not have a fall conference.  We will set something up in the spring.  They are doing fine and we are still getting adjusted to school so there is no need to have a conference at this time.  If there are any concerns that you have you may send me an email through Jupiter or at [email protected]

This week we talked about the color Brown.  We made chocolate chip cookies out of paper plates and construction paper.  The cookies were circles and the chips were triangles.  Liam brought in some brown fall leaves and acorns to show us.  Last week Max brought in leaves as well.  Thanks to Liam and Max!

We also talked about Guardian Angels.  I sent  home a bookmark for your child with the Guardian Angel prayer.  This is a great prayer for small children to recite at bedtime.  It is reassuring to them to know that their angels will be watching out for them while they sleep.  It’s also good for you as a parent to know that the Angels watch out for them during the day!

After break we will continue to learn about fall and we will talk about apples and apple trees.  The next week we will talk about pumpkins.  We don’t talk too much about Halloween (since many elements of Halloween can be scary)– but I will teach them a song in music about different things they can be for Halloween.  We usually let them wear their costumes to school one day.  Just make sure they can still go to the bathroom unassisted.  If this is a problem, then maybe they should only wear part of the costume–not the entire thing.  The day to wear costumes would be Wednesday, Oct. 26.

I hope everyone has a safe and fun fall break!

God bless!

Mrs. Langferman
