RELIGION – We will finish up Chapter 3 this week with a test on Wednesday. Be watching for test hints on Tuesday afternoon. In our next chapter we will talk about how Jesus teaches us to pray. We will also read about St. Therese Little Ways, and four different prayers (Blessing, Petition, Thanksgiving, and Praise).
It is our classes turn to lead the Mass this week! If your child has a reading/speaking part for Mass, please make sure they practice a few times at home. We will be going over to practice on Wednesday afternoon. Hopefully you can join us for Mass on Thursday morning!
**Don’t forget students should wear Mass Uniform on mass days! This is blue pants and white shirts for the boys. Plaid skirt or jumper with a white shirt for the girls!
SPELLING – Our words this week have ch and tch in the spellings (chick, pitch). We will have tests on Wednesday and Friday. We have a new set of words. You can find the next three weeks of words at the link below.
READING – This week we will be reading “Wolf.” We will work on comprehension, fantasy/reality, text features such as boldface, headings, italics, and multiple-meaning words.
GRAMMAR – We will work on singular and plural nouns in grammar. We will talk about words that show “more or less – degrees of difference” in vocabulary.
MATH – We didn’t get as far last week as I had hoped, so we will finish up Chapter 2 this week with a test on Tuesday. Our next chapter will be on Subtraction. We will look at subtracting up to four-digit numbers, subtracting money, and subtracting across zeros.
SCIENCE – We will start our next chapter in Science this week. We will be talking about Animals. We will look at the needs of animals, how animals grow, parts of animals, and kinds of animals.
Information about the ANIMAL REPORT should have come home on Friday! Each child was given a yellow page with all the information needed for completing this assignment. Please let me know if you have any questions regarding the report or if you and your child have trouble finding the required information.
SOCIAL STUDIES – We will focus on Science for the next few weeks.
