Week of September 12-16

Religion- This week we are continuing our study of types of prayer and adding forms of prayer too.   We will be taking lots of notes and share scripture. We will have a quiz this Friday. If your child studies their handwritten notes every evening they should have no worries come quiz time.

Science- We have begun our study of vertebrates and invertebrates.  Students should already have a good grasp on the vocabulary as we have been working with it in-depth for the past two weeks.  We will have a quiz over highlighted material on Thursday. This week we will use apples and toothpicks for stem. All materials will be supplied. Occasionally the students will need to provide materials.  When this happens there will be a two-week notice.  Currently we could use old and ready to throw away CDs or DVDs. If you have any please send them our way. Questions, comments, or concerns please email me at [email protected]  or I invite you to call me at home, my number is in your child’s planner.

Social Studies-Please look for the Indian Studies Weekly. Our new subject is physical and natural regions of Indiana. Vocabulary quiz next Tuesday the 20th.

Math- 4th Grade Math:   We have one more lesson after today to complete in Chapter 2.   Today we learned Rounding Rules.   Please ask your child to share our Rounding Rule poem with you. We will continue to work on rounding tomorrow, and will switch on Wednesday to our final lesson of the chapter, lesson 6: Problem-Solving: Using a Bar Graph.   We will text next week over the entire Chapter

Reading- This week we will talk about character traits, using the main characters from our novel Frindle. We will also create a Frindle journal.
