I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! This is our weekly newsletter with a look back at the week and a look ahead at next week. NO SCHOOL on MONDAY, Sept. 5- Labor Day. Enjoy some family time!
The children played and learned this week. We are doing better with routines and discipline. Hooray! We talked about the color yellow and colored some happy sunshines! Next week we will be talking about the color green. We are reading lots of books. This seems to be one of the children’s favorite parts of the day! We also sing our days of the week and sing about the weather. They might be singing “Who made the world? God did!” That is one of our songs in religion class.
I do have one suggestion for you to work on at home. The children need to learn how to put on their shoes. Many of them have velcro shoes which are perfect for this age. Just have them try to put them on by themself! It may take a little longer but this the stage where they should be moving towards dressing independently. Even more important, they need to be able to pull down their clothes for bathroom and if they aren’t good at snaps and zippers they need to work on this or wear easier clothes to school. That would be a great help to us at school!
Several of our kiddos have been out sick already. Thanks for keeping them home when they are not feeling well. However, if they just complaining that they don’t want to go to school, this may just be an issue of separation anxiety. If they are just complaining about missing “Mommy” or “Daddy” then you need to be consistent and send them to school anyway. The more consistent you are, the more they will get used to it. If you bend for them, they will learn that they can manipulate with their tears and then it will be even harder to get them to come to school.
PEEK AT THE WEEK: Mon. Sept. 5 – no school, Tues. Sept. 6 – PRIDE meeting 6:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday, Sept 9 and 10- Parish Festival.
Pride is our Parent Organization and they do wonderful things for the school. Come to a meeting a learn what makes St. Rose tick! The Parish Festival will have lots of kids’ games and good food so hope to see you there!
Thanks and God Bless!
