You'll Move Mountains

I am looking forward to seeing my new Kindergarten class tomorrow, August 10th!  Here are just a few reminders for the 1st day of school:

*Students are welcome to come to the classroom when the first bell rings at 7:50 a.m.  The final bell rings at 8:00 a.m.  I’m sure the children will have lots of fans wanting to take their picture and I’m sure they will need a little extra help carrying all of their belongings to our classroom.  Parents, please pick up the letter that will be outside of my classroom on a table after dropping your child off in our room.

*Dismissal is at 2:50 p.m.  Please be sure to let me know if your child will be riding the bus or going to Extended Care after school instead of being picked up in the car line.

*Kindergarten students do wear uniforms.  You can find this information by clicking on  the “parent tab” (top right hand corner) on our website.  You will then see a link on the left for “policies and handbooks,” click on this link and then you will find the “school handbook” tab.  We will NOT be attending mass this Thursday with grades 1-8 so mass uniforms for Kindergarten students are not necessary this week.  We plan to attend next week with our 8th grade buddies.  If you are in need of school uniforms, you will find some gently used items in the atrium.  Feel free to take a look to see if any of these items work for your child.  You can stop in the office to give Mrs. Carnes a donation for the items you need.

*Students can either bring a lunch box or order hot lunch on August 10th.  The menu is posted on our website under the “Student Life” tab.  This will take you to the “Lion Cafeteria” where you can find the menu for August.

*As I mentioned in an e-mail last week, Kindergarten students are asked to bring their school supplies in a separate bag on the 1st day of school (please do not put supplies in their backpacks).  This is always a very busy day so please be sure your child’s name is on their “supply bag” in case we don’t get a chance to go through all of them on Wednesday.  Students should also bring their “bear” picture that I mailed them to color, their Ziploc baggie with one item to help us learn a little something about each Kindergarten student (we may not get through all 16 tomorrow) and the information sheet that parents were asked to fill out.  Mrs. Carnes has been sending a lot of important information (PRIDE, Extended Care, Athletics, etc.) via e-mail so please be sure you are checking your e-mail on a regular basis and be sure to visit our website frequently too.  We don’t want anyone to miss out on all of the wonderful things going on at St. Rose School!  If you have any questions, please let me know, especially if you are new to St. Rose and are unsure about anything.  I am happy to help!  There is more information to come about St. Rose School and Kindergarten on “Back To School Night” for grades Pre-school-5th next Thursday evening  at 6:00 p.m.  We hope you’ll join us!

*Don’t forget to bring your SMILES!

I’m looking forward to a WONDERFUL year with all of you!  Enjoy your last day of summer break!

God Bless You,

Mrs. Boring
