Dolphin                          3rd Grade Weekly WaveSandDollar

RELIGION  We are still working on Chapter 12 this week. We will also be reading the chapter on HOLY WEEK.  We will then work on the EASTER chapter next week.  We will then get to Chapter 13 after Spring Break.

**Don’t forget students should wear Mass Uniform on mass days!  This is blue pants and white shirts for the boys.  Plaid skirt or jumper with a white shirt for the girls! Now that we are in the “winter” months, the girls may wear blue pants and white shirt.  This will be in effect through March.

 SPELLING We are back to reading stories from our Reading Book, so we are back to our normal list of words.   This week we will work on words with endings having a “y to i” before adding the endings.  Due to Friday being filled with activities for Good Friday, our Spelling tests will be Wednesday and Thursday this week.

Week 25-27

READING We will be back to using our regular reading book this week.  We will be reading “A Carousel of Dreams.”  We will be working on vocabulary, fact and opinion, skim and scanning for information, and using possessives.  Our test will be on Thursday this week!

GRAMMAR This week we will be working on Possessive Pronouns in Grammar and looking at “Science words” that have to do with animals in Vocabulary.    

MATH We are working on triangles, quadrilaterals, finding a pattern, and knowing solid figures in math this week.  I am planning a math test NEXT Wednesday!  Keep watching for up-to-date info. in the daily emails and in the homework journals.

SCIENCEWe are still working on Earth’s Resources in Science.  We will be talking about fossils and fuels, water, and saving our resources.   

SOCIAL STUDIES   We will be focusing on Science for a few weeks.

**Please be sure to turn in all MATH-A-THON money by FRIDAY, MARCH 25!!

**There will be a NUT DAY for anyone who brings in items for the HOLY FAMILY SHELTER. This organization helps homeless families in Indiana.  Each class is asked to bring in a certain item.  THIRD GRADE IS ASKED TO BRING IN  GRANOLA BARS!  The NUT DAY is TUESDAY, MARCH 29!!

**A few things to keep in mind for HOLY WEEK —
1) Mass will be on WEDNESDAY this week!
2) The All School Seder Meal will be Thursday at 1:30 in the PLC. (NO MASS & NO PE!)
3) Good Friday – Lenten Retreat will be in the morning, followed by “Live” Stations at 12:30 in the Church.  We will DISMISS at 1:30 pm.  There will be NO EXTENDED CARE on FRIDAY!
4) NO SCHOOL ON MONDAY, MARCH 28!

**REMEMBER- Students are NOT ALLOWED to wear shorts yet as part of their uniform or even on NUT DAYS!  We will be back to wearing shorts AFTER we return from Spring Break!
