This will be the FINAL goal sheet of the year!  I will begin assessing these goals when we return from Spring Break.  If you would like for your child to do the challenges, please send me an e-mail or make a note in the comment section of the Friday folder.  Please begin working on these goals (2-3 times a week) as soon as possible.

1. I can recite the Hail Mary:
Hail Mary, full of grace!  The Lord is with thee; Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
2. I can recognize (upper/lower case D’Nealian), give the sound for & give a word for EVERY letter of the alphabet.
3. I can read the following number words:  zero, one, two, three, four, five, six, seven,eight, nine & ten

4. I can read the following words¬†by ‚Äústretching out‚ÄĚ every letter¬†sound: (total phonetic approach;¬†word families/consonant-vowel-consonant)¬†map, tap, ham, Sam, fig, wig, lip, rip, bit,¬†pit, cot, dot, hop, mop, box, fox, Ted, Ned,¬†yet, jet, den, hen, run, fun, jug & tug
**Challenge (consonant blends): flap, cram, twig & slip**


Have you heard the news? In April the¬†Kindergarten class will be ‚ÄúCRACKING¬†UP!‚ÄĚ Yes, we will be hatching baby
chicks in our classroom after spring¬†break. We will begin incubating our¬†chicken eggs on April 12th (it takes¬†about 21 days for the chicks to hatch).¬†Look for more information to come¬†home as the date gets closer. The¬†children are very ‚ÄėEGG‚Äôcited! A¬†SPECIAL THANKS in advance to Mr.¬†Boring for driving to Purdue to pick up our eggs again this year!



Last, but not least, Alayna was our STAR student this week! ¬†She was all smiles when she FINALLY saw her “star door” up! ¬†Alayna was born on July 14. ¬†She showed us a picture of an ultrasound before she was born and it almost looked as if she was waving. ¬†Alayna LOVES her family very much! ¬†She has two sisters (Ana/Roncalli and Layla/future Lion) and three brothers (Isaac/8th grade, Alejandro/6th grade and Samuel/2nd grade). ¬†Alayna really looks up to her older siblings and she loves being a big sister to Layla. ¬†We know she’s a wonderful big sister because she’s always very kind and helpful to others. ūüôā ¬†She likes playing games with her siblings. ¬†Alayna enjoys going roller skating with her mom and likes to give her dad hugs. ūüôā ¬†Alayna also enjoys spending time¬†with her grandma. ¬†Alayna gives her grandma kisses¬†and makes her smile when she’s missing grandpa. ¬†Alayna has a

Chocolate Lab puppy named Choco. ¬†She likes to draw on her Doodle Pro, sing and play the piano. ¬†Her grandma taught her how to play the piano and Alayna’s favorite song to play is “Joy to the World.” ¬†Alayna’s favorite places to go are Apple Works and the Children’s Museum. ¬†She also likes to celebrate her grandma’s birthday at a Mexican restaurant. ¬†Her favorite food is macaroni and cheese. ¬†Her favorite movie is Frozen and her favorite book is her storybook about Joseph. ¬†Alayna’s favorite color is pink. ¬†Thanks for sharing, Alayna!

*3/17 ¬†NUT day in honor of St. Patrick! ¬†Students can wear GREEN or a St. Patrick’s Day shirt (students do NOT have to wear mass uniforms).

*3/19 ¬†PRIDE/8th grade spaghetti dinner in the PLC following 4:30 mass; PRIDE 80’s Family Dance @ 7:00 p.m.


*Please note that we will have early dismissal on Good Friday (3/25) at 1:30 with NO EXTENDED CARE, we will NOT have school on Easter Monday (3/28) and Spring Break begins on Friday, April 1st (no school).
