Thanks for stopping by to read our class blog!  If you are reading this, have your child tell me their mother’s middle name tomorrow (TUESDAY!) for an extra treat!  It’ll help me have a better understanding of my audience.  Thanks!

Next week— ISTEP testing will begin!  Please make sure your child is here at school, well-rested and fed, too! We got this!!  GO LIONS!

Religion-

Students will continue to learn about the holy season of Lent.  Each child has their own purple Lenten book to keep track of daily.

We will also spend time going over the Circle of Grace lessons mandated by the Archdiocese.  Students will recognize that trusted adults help us stay safe in our Circle of Grace and help us respect other in their Circle of Grace.  We will identify different types of media and how they influence our Circle of Grace in positive and negative ways. You may be asking, “what is Circle of Grace?”  It’s the love and goodness of God which always surrounds us and others.

Good news! Results are in from our ACRE Test for the Archdiocese and St. Rose 5th graders rocked it!  Mrs. Floyd and I will share the results along with the 3rd quarter report cards!

The most exciting part of our curriculum is right now!  We will learn about the Declaration of Independence and how the nation came to be!  We are taking notes daily and watching Liberty’s Kids videos to really drive home the point.  Check assignment notebooks daily, too!

Reading- Maniac Magee (novel- realistic fiction)

Chapter Part III  We will finish this book this week!
