RELIGION – We will take a test over Chapter 9 on Wednesday. Please see the “test hints” in Tuesday’s email. In our next chapter we will discuss how we gather to celebrate Mass.
**Don’t forget students should wear Mass Uniform on mass days! This is blue pants and white shirts for the boys. Plaid skirt or jumper with a white shirt for the girls!G Now that we are in the “winter” months, the girls may wear blue pants and white shirt. This will be in effect until March.
SPELLING – Our words this week will have words with “Soft c” and “Soft g” sounds (examples -cell and gems). The tests will be back to Wednesday and Friday. Please see the link below for the words for the next three weeks!
READING – Our story this week is called “Washington Weed Whackers.” We will be looking at vocabulary, comprehension, compare & contrast, and using the media center in a library. Our test will be Friday.
GRAMMAR – We will continue to work with linking verbs and we will be doing some writing in Grammar. In our Vocabulary books we will be working on Lesson 11, which will be talking about using context clues to figure out words we don’t know.
MATH – We will finish up our section on money this week. I am hoping for a test on Thursday. Our test will cover telling time, using a calendar, telling temperature, and money. I will be sending “test hints” home on Wednesday.
SCIENCE – We will start on Science this week. Our chapter will be about Ecosystems in Balance. We will talk about how living things compete and adaptations for survival.
SOCIAL STUDIES – We will focus on Science over the next few weeks!

**CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK is coming up! That means lots of fun “dress up” days and activities at School! Please be watching for the Catholic Schools Week Agenda to be coming home today!! Also, mark your calendars for the Annual Chili Supper and PUNK -N- ROCK on Friday, Feb. 5th. The Chili Supper starts at 5:30 and the Show starts at 7 pm! You don’t want to miss it!
**There will be NO EXTENDED CARE after school on FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 5th! The PLC will be closed due to set up for PUNK-N-ROCK!
** School Cancellations and Delays – St. Rose follows Franklin Community School for cancellations and delays. When delays or cancellations occur, they will be announced on local stations (CBS, ABC and NBC) under ‘Franklin Community Schools’. St. Rose will, also, send out an email through Jupiter. On the morning of, you may call the school office at 738-3451 to verify any delays or cancellations.
