Here is what we are doing this week:
6th Math: We are beginning ratios this week! We will work on writing ratios, simplifying ratios, and finding equivalent ratios. We will begin to focus on review material at the beginning and end of class.
7th Math: This week, we will work on writing equations and inequalities from word problems. Students must define their variables at the start! We will begin to focus on review material at the beginning and end of class.
Prealgebra: We are simplifying radicals at the beginning of this week. Students have a Pythagorean Theorem packet due on Friday. We will be moving into functions and relations by the end of the week. We will begin to focus on review material at the beginning and end of class.
Algebra: This week, we will change standard form equations to slope-intercept form, graph horizontal and vertical lines, and look at slope of parallel and perpendicular lines. It is possible we will have a graphing quiz next Tuesday!
6th Science: This week, we will focus on the flow of energy through food chains and food webs and the role of organisms in each. We will also discuss limiting factors and carrying capacity and how changes in habitat affect the organisms in the environment. On Tuesday, the biome project will be assigned. This is a two part project that will be due on December 4.
7th Science: Our rock cycle test is on Wednesday. After the test, we will begin our fossils unit.
8th Science: This week, we are focusing on chemical reactions. We will discuss signs of, equations representing, and types of chemical reactions.
