Hello Parents,

I hope everyone had a relaxing and fun fall break!

Now that we are back from fall break, please remember your child can no longer wear shorts until after spring break. Also, please remember to put your child’s name on their coats, hats and gloves. With the amount of children we have in preschool, it is hard to remember what everyone is wearing when they come to school. If we have leftovers at the end of the day, they will be sent to lost and found.
(Clothing items, not children! LOL)

Kindergarten Bound and Lion Cubs

Note: We do not have a “party” like the other grades do. We have a normal day, which consist of a Halloween theme. We will still have our academics and incorporate Halloween activities such as, story time, craft, snack and a Halloween video (age appropriate of course). I have learned over the 18 years of teaching preschool, the children become overwhelmed with a “party” and the amount of parents who show up. We have children upset when their parents can’t make the “party”. We are drying tears, calming over stimulated children and redirecting tantrums. When started 4 years ago having a normal class day, but incorporating the holiday theme into our schedule. It has been a huge hit with the children and the parents. We have received positive feed back on changing the way we celebrate Halloween, Christmas and Valentines Day.

Kindergarten Bound Preschoolers will celebrate Halloween on Friday, October 30. They can wear their costume to school on this day. If your child stays all day, please send play clothes to change into. I don’t want their costume to get ruined by going to recess and lunch.

Lion Cub Preschoolers will celebrate Halloween on Thursday, October 29. They can bring their costume to school on this day; we will change into our costumes after lunch for those who stay all day. If your child only comes in the afternoon, they can wear their costume to school.

The Kindergarten Bound Preschoolers are on the letter Ii this week. We are learning about vowels, your child should know the vowels Aa, Ee and Ii so far! Our Let’s Find Out magazine today had math problems and the children did a great job following along with me and trying to write their numbers!

The Lion Cubs are working on recognizing their name, learning how to spell the color Yellow, learning their shapes and colors this week! We will also learning our numbers too!

Have a wonderful week and if you have any questions or concerns, please let me know.
