Welcome back to all students and families, and a big welcome to all the new families!

Each week, I will give a brief overview here of this week’s topics in Religion class.  For this week, I wanted to clarify the supply list and offer a quick glance at what we’ll be doing for the year:

6th grade students should have a binder with tabs (dividers) for taking class notes and keeping handouts, etc.   In addition, each one should have a notebook to use as a journal, as well as a Catholic Bible for use at home (it will not be brought to class).

6th graders will be studying the Old Testament this year.   They should be sure to bring their binders and dividers to class on Monday, as we will be dividing the binder into periods of Old Testament history.  I hope we’ll bring some familiar Old Testament stories to life this year, introduce some less familiar ones, show the students how those stories fit together to form the “big picture” of Old Testament history, and help them apply the Old Testament lessons to their own lives.

Hope to see you all at back to school night!

God bless you all,

Mrs. O’Brien
