St. Rose of Lima School Lunch Policies 2015-16

LUNCH ACCOUNTS:

School Lunch accounts are debit accounts.   Therefore, money must be in your child’s account at the beginning of each month for lunches purchased during that month.

Lunch account balances can be checked online at EZSchoolPay.com. Parents are responsible for checking their child’s account balance on a regular basis and adding money as need to cover lunch purchases. Low balance notices can be set up on EZSchoolPay.com

Lunch account deposits may be made at any time during the month by sending cash or a check to the school office. When sending in cash or check payments please write your family name and “school lunch money” on the envelope. Soon, a credit card payment option will also be available. More details to follow.

Lunch accounts which have a negative balance of more than $10.00 at the end of the current month must be paid in full by the 10th of the next month or the child will be not be able to order lunch until the balance is paid in full OR a payoff arrangement is made with the school principal.

If your family’s lunch account is placed on hold, you will need to send lunch from home until the past due amount is paid.

At the end of the school year, money in school lunch accounts will be refunded if requested; otherwise it will be rolled over to the next school year. Families with accounts in arrears will be billed for the amount due with payment due by June 15.

LUNCH CHARGES:

Lunch prices for the 2015-16 school year are $2.70 per lunch and $.40 per carton for milk. One carton of milk is included in the school meal. Extra entrees are $1.00 each and extra side dishes are $.50 each.

Lunch charges will be posted in real time via EZSchoolPay.com. Families can check their balances and charges at any time once they have created an account.

FREE/REDUCED PRICED LUNCHES:

Students eligible for free or reduced price lunches may receive one “reimbursable meal” per day. A la carte items such as extra milk, extra entrees and milk purchased when lunch is brought from home are NOT reimbursable items by the National School Lunch Program.   It is to your and your child’s advantage to order lunch each day rather than bring lunch from home.   Students receiving free/reduced price lunches and who have unpaid ala carte charges greater than $10.00 may not purchase “extras” until the balance due is paid off or financial arrangements have been made with the principal.

Application for free or reduced price meals may be made at any time during the school year. Families who qualify for these benefits are eligible for the entire school year and the first 30 days of the next school year. If a family is directly certified it is not necessary to complete a paper application. Please contact the school office if you need assistance with the application.
