St. Rose of Lima Athletics is looking for coaches for its upcoming seasons. This year we are having an Open Call for Coaches starting July 25, 2015 – August 8, 2015. Open Call is a time where anyone who is interested in coaching the Lions is encouraged to fill out a Coaches Application. If you have experience in sports and would like to volunteer your time we would love to hear from you. We are looking for both Head and Assistant Coaches for our lions this year. If you have coached our Lions in the past and are still interested in coaching this season we want to hear from you too. Coaches Code of Conduct

The following is a list of policies concerning conduct and behavior expected of all volunteer coaches in the CYO program:

Coaches must be aware that they have a tremendous influence in the education of the student-athlete and therefore will not place the value of winning above the value of in stilling the highest desirable ideals of character.

Coaches must always uphold the integrity and honor of being a teacher/coach in programs sponsored by the Catholic Church.  In all personal contact with the youth, opposing coaches, fans, and officials, coaches must set an example of high ethical and moral conduct.

Coaches shall run their programs consistent with the total school and religious education programs of the parish.

Coaches shall know and adhere to league and contest rules and be responsible for their communication to team members.

Coaches shall promote good sportsmanship with players and parents.

Before and after games, opposing coaches will meet and exchange friendly greetings with officials and each other and will make sure their teams do as well.

Coaches will treat athletes and officials with dignity.  Coaches will not use profanity, touch athletes in a negative manner, or make demeaning criticisms to athletes or officials.

What are my responsibilities as a Coach?

Some of the items coaches are required to do are as follows.

Complete Coaches Registration and Safety Training
Attend AD and Coaches Meeting
Attend Athlete-Parent-Coaches Meeting
Coordinate Sport with AD
Find a Team Mom (as needed)
Prepare Practice Schedules and plans
Communicate with Parents
Attend and Coach at all Games
