Standardized Testing

ISTEP

As a school accredited by the State of Indiana, St. Rose of Lima participates in Indiana Statewide Testing for Educational Progress Plus (ISTEP+). The purpose of ISTEP+ is to measure student achievement in the areas of English/Language Arts and Mathematics (Grades 3-8), Science (Grades 4 and 6), and Social Studies (Grades 5 and 7). An Applied Skills Assessment and a Multiple Choice Assessment are used to measure mastery of standards.

IREAD

As a school accredited by the State of Indiana, St. Rose of Lima 3rd Grade students participate in the Indiana Reading Evaluation And Determination (IREAD) assessment to measure foundational reading standards through Grade 3. This is a summative assessment which requires the evaluation of reading skills of students in Grade 3 to ensure that all students can read proficiently before moving to Grade 4.

ECA

As a school accredited by the State of Indiana, St. Rose of Lima participates in Indiana Statewide Testing for Educational Progress Plus (ISTEP+). The ISTEP+ End of Course Assessment (ECAs) is a criterion-referenced assessment developed specifically for students completing instruction in Algebra.
