The Lion Cubs had a good time this week with our “Under the Sea” theme!  We looked at books about all kinds of fish that live in the coral reef.  We did a fish craft and made our own “ocean” scene with blue paper and stickers.  We continued to work on ABC’s, numbers and shapes.

Today was “Field Day” for the school (Kindergarten through 8th) and even though we didn’t get to do the games, we did have a picnic lunch out on the playground and we had snow cones in the afternoon with the rest of the school.  We watched movies in our room during rest time.

Next week we just have school on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.  Thursday is an early release (1:00 p.m.)  If you need YMCA aftercare, be sure to let them know that you will need that on Thursday.

Our theme for next week will be “all things summer”!  We will play with bubbles, sidewalk chalk, maybe even take a nature walk outside!  We plan to make it a fun time for them!

All the students should have received an end of the year report from me in their bookbag today (some did receive it on Wednesday).  If you have any questions, please let me know.  All of our class should be signing up for Kindergarten Bound unless I have specifically talked to you about keeping your child in Lion Cubs one more year.  Some are just young and need that extra time to “grow up”.  It’s not even about how much they know.  At this age, it is how ready they are emotionally.  Again, please email me if you have any questions or concerns.

Thanks so much for a great school year!
